Educational leaders play a critical role in developing effective programs to prevent problems such as drug abuse, bullying, student anxiety and depression which has been intensified by the COVID pandemic. This workshop will address two essential components of successful school-based programs and introduce a curriculum infusion model that incorporates these elements for effective prevention. Distributed Leadership is an approach to leadership that is shared, collective and extended. In practice, it identifies and taps into the skills and abilities of individuals within the school community, relies on collaboration, and fosters a culture of trust and respect. This academy focuses on identifying and articulating a deliberate set of leadership practices and policies that move beyond simply "divvying up" the tasks of school leadership to thoughtfully identifying beliefs and practices intended to result in school culture outcomes that are both ethical and equitable. Participants will be required to map out a distributed leadership agenda with measurable outcomes, designed to assure an equitable school culture of high expectations for every student.
**Teacher Evaluator Retraining Courses — Completion of two academies is required to meet the retraining requirement -- one course that addresses Teacher Practice and, the other course addresses Student Growth. These two courses must be completed within the five-year renewal cycle and need not be completed within the same calendar year.
